In this non- stop world we can be plugged in for 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. It is paramount to take some time out to rest and repair BEFORE you create dis- ease of the body and mind.
Emotional stress can manifest in the body as physical issues- sore shoulders, tight jaw, stiff back, headaches and IBS to name but a few. Emotional challenges in the form of anxiety, depression and panic attacks are also our body shouting to us ENOUGH, STOP, take a break…I can’t take anymore!
By creating space in our days, months and years we can retreat inwards, take stock and recharge. The challenge is that our current world doesn’t support doing NOTHING. We are encouraged to work, work, work, earn, earn, earn and to always be achieving more and more.
Take a step back and tune in to nature. Nature is wise and guides us when we need to retreat through changes in the seasons, or by following the moon’s cycles. There is a time to act, but just as importantly, there is a time to simply BE.
